10/04-Saturday Morning Coffee

Posted on October 4th, 2008 by Buts

How about them Phillies WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Instead of the NHL opening up in Sweden etc why don’t they do something cool for the fans in North America. Why not have the Coyotes open up in Winnipeg and the Hurricanes open up in Hartford? Neither fan base is huge as it is and it would be really cool if they allowed the teams to play in the old uniforms of the Jets and and the Whale!

When I was a young lad there was a hockey stick factory that made wooden sticks just down the hill from my house, that’s kind of cool to think about right now.

I really miss the Esa Tikkanen’s of the hockey world.

They say Esa spoke some form of Finnish and some form of English and neither nationality could understand it.

My buddy used the term “bullroar” the other day. That makes me laugh, holy crap that is a funny term. Go ahead and try to say it with out laughing.

So the Hawks waive The Bulin Wall. You knew something was going to happen. So you can make up for your mistakes by just waiving players. Still have to pay the salary but the player is off the cap.

I still hate the shoot out, Bettman needs to go just for allowing that.

I really think the Oilers are going to be very good this year, may even win that division.

Well the Wings have done it again watch out for Ville Leino. He may not be ready for prime time yet but he will be with in the next few years.

My wife loves the show “House” I’m not into it. Let me explain every episode to you. Person gets sick, nobody knows what it is, everybody freaks out, The main character named House says lets try this and everybody says no it won’t work, It works and everybody says wow and then House takes off on his motorbike. I just saved you hours of time, thank me later.

I’m telling you this right now folks, the Bruins and Oilers will win their divisions.

Will the NHL just give Basillie a team already, holy smokes get it done.

So who balks first and signs Shanahan? It will happen.

Is it just me or does the NHL tinker too much. Seems to be there is always new rules, new sweaters and rumours of new teams. Maybe they should just leave things alone and let the fans catch up.

I hope you selected Kris Letang in your hockey pool like I told you 2 weeks ago.

I don’t know what’s in your pantry but mine is full of granola bars, fruit to go, pudding, cereal(fruit loops),koolaid jammers and other snacks. Is that the norm?

I like Carlo Colaiacovo. I hope he has a healthy season. With McCabe gone he could be a dark horse if healthy.

Claude Giroux is a Phantom. The NHL is a long way from junior hockey isn’t it.

First weekend of the NHL season, enjoy it folks the greatest game in the world is back.

Have a great weekend hooligans.

Hey Buts, The old wooden Hespeler Green Flash was the standard for all wooden hockey sticks. As well, at one time tow of your great-uncles, Stan and Jock worked in that factory and made those sticks. Just about every house in Hespeler and a mini-stick ashtray stand, a hockey stick coat tree or hockey stick coffee tabels. Is Hespeler the greatest town in the world of what?

Good morning Buts. Out financial crisis in the U.S. may be a boon to your billionair friend in Canada. With DelBaggio’s fraud charge and the financial crisis the Thrashers are about to default on their loan. Can bankruptcy be far away, I don’t think so. Don’t know much about your friend Basillie but I do know he is a solid business man and appearantlly an insatiable apetite for hockey. All good.

i wish i felt about my town the way you all seem to feel about yours. :(

but i wonder…how warmly welcomed would the Canes and Yotes be in their old homes? do you think there wouold be any sour grapes? or would it just be alot of enthusiasm for the nostalgia?

and i know its a few years after the fact, but i still think the shootout was a great idea. sure beats the hell of of paying $50 a seat to see a tie game.
