The Thrashers are horrid hockey team and Kovalchuk has mailed it in already. The Thrashers need to trade him NOW and start with the rebuild with out him. He is poisoning the team and he needs to change now.

Speaking of Canucks, the little round mound of offense Kyle Wellwood is playing some nifty hockey.
Mike Modano on a point a game pace? Seems crazy but it’s happening.
Sergei Zubov is back next week. He’ll play 65 games this year and get you 50 points.
Keep an eye on the Pens, they can’t seem to find any wingers to play with Sid and Geno which seems impossible but true.
Young Derrick Brassard of the Blue Jackets has 9 points in 10 games and the kid has game.
RJ Umberger is proving he is a 3rd liner and it was wise of the Flyers to let him walk, trade him if you can.
Ryan Clowe is heating up in San Jose after a slow start.

Your comments on Umberger…. true he isnt playing the way he did when he was in Philadelphia, but consider the situation. He is on a weaker team whose entire offense revolves around Rick Nash, unlike Philly last year that had six 20+ goal scorers. He is being asked to shoulder much more of the offensive load in Columbus than he did here in Philly and he isnt that kind of player. Its a tough situation to be in, but playing under Ken Hitchcock, he will become a better all around player and if his stay in Columbus is short lived, he will help whichever team he goes to next thanks to Hitch.

god what i would do to see Kovalchuk in a Flyers jersey. but what in the world would we have to give up to even entertain him????

FF, I would think Gagne, Briere or Carter plus a prospect and a pick would be the start of the talks. Personally I would rather see him in LA, Vancouver, Phoenix or Edmonton. This way the Flyers core stays intact and they also don’t have to see him but twice a year.

youre probably right OC… i felt that might be the case. i too would rather leave the Flyers core intact. i cant imagine seeing Gagne in another jersey. however, i think the exception for me might be Briere. i would let him go willingly if i thought it would yield Kovalchuk in a deal.
