Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) – Teemu Selanne notched the lone goal in the shootout to lift Anaheim past Philadelphia, 3-2, at Wachovia Center.

The Finnish veteran capitalized on Anaheim’s second chance, ripping a snapshot home from 15 feet. Simon Gagne’s chance to keep the session going was foiled when Jonas Hiller closed off the low part of the right post.

Selanne also scored a pair of third-period goals for the Ducks, who rallied from a two-goal deficit and posted their second consecutive win after dropping two to begin the year.

Hiller stopped 33 shots over regulation and overtime for his second win of the year.

Mike Richards and Chris Pronger tallied in regulation for the Flyers, who have lost two in a row after beginnning the year with three straight victories.

Ray Emery was the hard-luck loser after a 31-save performance.

“It’s really frustrating, going into the third period with a two goal lead and winding up with the loss,” Emery admitted.

Richards gave the Flyers a 1-0 lead with 6;31 left in the first when he one- timed a feed by Claude Giroux in the left circle past Hiller on the short side.

Pronger doubled Philly’s advantage with a booming slap shot from the point off a Matt Carle dish with 6:02 to play in the second period. It was the 35- year-old defenseman’s first goal in a Flyers uniform and came against the team for which he played from 2006-09.

Selanne finally solved Emery with a quick wrister inside the right post with 6:44 to play in regulation, and Hiller was sent to the bench for an extra attacker with 1:08 left.

Selanne hit the net with 16 seconds to go on his swift one-timer at a sharp angle from the left side. Scott Niedermayer made the pass, bouncing it across the ice from near the boards on the right wing.

“(Ryan) Getzlaf to keep the puck in was a huge play. Scottie got the puck, and I couldn’t believe how open I was. I was very happy to see the puck go in.”
