The Stanley Cup In Williamstown - 7/10/04

Williamstown, PA - American Legion Post No. 239

This public display of the Stanley Cup was held in honor of Jay Feaster. Feaster is the Tampa Bay Lightning's GM, a Williamstown native, and an American Legion member. Feaster reached the pinnacle of the sport as Tampa's GM and decided to spend his 24 hours with the Cup in his hometown. There was quite a stir caused by the arrival of the Cup in this quiet and quaint little Pennsylvania town. Even though it wasn't the Flyers' year to celebrate, I couldn't pass up the chance to see the Cup in person. A brunch was held in honor of Feaster, the Cup, and a military unit that had just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. Then, a press conference was held with local media, and the public showing began.

Some fans touching the Cup for luck.

A great look at the holy grail of hockey.

A shot of the Flyers' section of the Cup.

The Cup seems to be a media hog.

Some of the passers-by.

The best shot I could have hoped for.
