Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Joffrey Lupul's pair of goals and 34 saves from Martin Biron lifted the Philadelphia Flyers over the Toronto Maple Leafs, 4-1, at Wachovia Center.

Danny Briere picked up a goal and one assist and Jeff Carter also hit the net for the Flyers, who ended a six-game losing streak overall as well as a five- game losing skid to Toronto at home.

Mats Sundin provided the lone goal for the Maple Leafs, who have dropped five of their last six contests. Andrew Raycroft allowed four goals on 34 shots in defeat.

Briere put Philly ahead 3-1 at 3:05 of the third period when he managed to get the blade of his stick on Jason Smith's right point shot as he was buried in front by Leafs defenseman Pavel Kubina.

Lupul made it a three-goal game at 7:56 when he ripped a wrister over Raycroft's glove, and the club killed off a pair of late short-handed situations to wrap up the win.

The Flyers got on the board with 34 seconds left in the first period. Randy Jones dumped the puck from his own defensive end down the left boards. Scott Hartnell charged into the Toronto zone, chased down the disc along the goalline, and sent a quick pass through the slot where Carter timed his tip-in perfectly.

It was 2-0 for the home team on a power-play goal with 2:37 left in the second. Briere's initial pass from the outer edge of the left circle hit a Toronto skate and caromed right to Lupul, who put a move on that same Leafs player and slipped a shot through Raycroft's pads.

Sundin's power-play blast from the bottom of the left circle with 27 seconds to play in the second period brought the Leafs within 2-1.

The tally was the 540th of his career, tying him with Teemu Selanne for third place among all European-born NHL players, and for 26th on the NHL's all-time list.

Game Notes Toronto had also taken the last six meetings dating back to October 22, 2005...Carter has four goals in his last three games after a six-game drought...It was Lupul's third multi-goal game of the month, following hat tricks on December 11 and 15...Mike Richards picked up an assist on Lupul's second goal, tying him with franchise icon Bobby Clarke for most consecutive home games with a point at 16. Clarke set the mark late in the 1975-76 season...Prior to the game, the Leafs recalled defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo from the Toronto Marlies, their AHL farm club, after a rehab stint...The Flyers begin a six-game road trip in Tampa on Saturday, and the Leafs host the Rangers also on Saturday.
